What is SUP
Stand Up Paddle Board or SUP, is a surface water sport, a variant of surfing where the surfer uses a paddle to move through the water while standing on a surfboard. The popularity of the modern sport of SUP has its origins in the Hawaiian Islands. In the early 1960s, the Beach Boys of Waikiki would stand on their long boards and paddle out with outrigger paddles to take pictures of the tourists learning to surf.
The sport has evolved into two main styles; Wave surfing and Flat water cruising.
The great thing about SUP flat water cruising, is that it does not need any wave and does not require any complicated coordination; you just learn to stand on a board with the right posture and begin paddling.
Later, when you start to build confidence, you can start wave surfing, enjoy physical activity and challenging exercises, paddle in the open ocean, in harbours, on lakes and rivers.
